Dr. Matt Howard is a certified Invisalign® provider. Invisalign® is an alternative to the traditional wire and bracket braces and uses advanced teeth-straightening technology. Invisalign is a relatively new technique that does not use “braces” at all to straighten one’s teeth. Instead, this system which is effective for mild to moderate crowding, uses a series of clear thermoplastic teeth aligners that are customized specifically to your teeth using 3D computer imaging technology. They are worn sequentially until the desired correction is achieved.
What Invisilign can do for you
Invisalign® aligners are virtually invisible and comfortable to wear which means you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing. If you've been hesistant to straighten your teeth, but didn't want to go through the process of having traditional braces, Invisalign may be right for you.
You can remove them when brushing, eating, drinking, or for pictures -- they do not complicate oral hygiene or your daily routine. In addition, Invisalign® aligners have no metal to irritate your mouth, making them easy to wear around the clock. You'll forget you're even wearing them! Each aligner is worn for two weeks, using controlled pressure to move your teeth in incremental amounts until they reach the desired final position. Invisalign aligners are often undetectable and can be removed while eating and brushing your teeth, giving patients freedom they would not have with traditional braces. You can still eat and drink whatever you want during treatment. And, there are no wires or brackets to cause discomfort or irritation!
